I just keep seeing all these posts that ask you to

I just keep seeing all these posts that ask you to compare yourself against “the average”. Or tell you that “at this age, this what you should have to show for yourself”.

Yeah, well guess what, life got in the way and I was just trying to live and enjoy life.

As a property Valuer I go into peoples homes for a living. I see how they live. I see what they own and I see how they treat people. I can tell you this much, some of the homes in the poorest areas I’ve gone into, have shown me the greatest amount of respect. They are happy to have me in their home. They converse with me, they respect me and they make me feel happy when I leave their property.

Some of the most disrespected I have ever felt, have been in some of the richest and most expensive homes in Sydney. I’ve been made to feel like I’m inferior because I was a young female Valuer, I’ve been made to feel that I don’t know what I’m doing because I don’t live in the areas Im valuing in and I’ve always felt that money doesn’t buy happiness.

Stay on your own path, work hard to improve yourself one day at a time.

Don’t let what others have dictate your happiness.

And, yes I know it sounds cringe, but happiness is what you make it, so if you take anything away from this is today. Just stop and think about what makes you truly happy and you’ll find you’ve got exactly what you need xo

If you can’t get a legal receipt from the work your mates did you can’t claim it.

All deductions must have a viable tax invoice. The ATO won’t refund you on money you haven’t spent. Even the box of pizza and box of beer won’t qualify as a dedication either.

This year especially the ATO is cracking down on illegal deductions, so don’t get caught out.
